- Alpacas deposit their odorless bean-like pellets ( also known as Alpaca Gold because it makes such an amazing fertilizer)
in concentrated areas
Alpaca Maintenance & Care
- Alpacas are sheared without harm every twelve to eighteen months
- They require minimal fencing
- Alpacas can be pastured at five to 10 animals per acre
- They are virtually disease-resistant animals
- Alpacas require annual vaccinations with tetanus and other locally appropriate vaccines
- They need routine parasite control
- Teeth and nails require occasional trimming
